Booking the choir

As a choir we’ve had the privilege of performing in some wonderful venues and for some fantastic causes. If you’re interested in booking the choir for your event please email Andy at lichfieldgospelchoir@gmail.com. We welcome all kinds of enquiries and performance opportunities so please do contact us.

With over 100 members, we are unable to perform at functions such as weddings and find it difficult to fit into smaller venues. Our members perform for the joy of it and give their time for free, so we always prefer events where we can sing for at least an hour - our standard concert format is two 45 minute sets with an interval. There is also usually a charge for hiring the choir to cover the cost of our musical directors.

JoinING the Choir

There are no auditions and, as we learn everything aurally, you don’t need to be able to read music. We rehearse in Lichfield on Tuesday evenings. If you’d like to join please contact us using the form below, tell us which part you’d like to sing (soprano, alto, tenor or bass) and Emily, our secretary, will be in touch within two weeks. Please check your junk/spam folder if you haven’t heard back from her.

There is a small, monthly membership fee which we pay by standing order. However, this should never be a barrier to joining the choir, please let Emily know if the cost might be a problem for you.

Waiting List

Due to our current size, we are unable to accept new sopranos, altos or female tenors, but please do add your name to the waiting list. Unfortunately it’s currently around 2 years and usualy varies between 1-3 years, but we promise it’s worth the wait!

Emily will send an email to confirm you have been added and will then contact you when a space becomes available. If she doesn’t recieve a reply to her email or text, your space will be offered to the next person on the list.
